Red Pill proponents believe that’s just one of the ways the matrix keeps men plugged in, but it’s more complex than that.

Most men have had that experience where they think a woman is really into them, but things are just not progressing rapidly enough, or dealt with that flirty woman who loves chatting with them on phone but isn’t in a hurry to meet up.

On the other hand, some men have had that experience where they got lucky during the first week, or had a one night stand. The author categorically dismisses the element of luck in these events.

Another way for a man to retain that power over the woman’s sexual agency is to never talk about his past sexual experiences to his current lover. This backfires because the man either comes across as a braggart, or succeeds to stir resentment from an insecure woman.

Women have leverage in relationships, but disguise their power in order to use it effectively. When women date, they’re looking for good genes and a good income. Ideally they want a good specimen and a great provider, but they’ll settle for one based on what the priority is at the time.

To maintain their ability to choose, they rely on instinct and social conventions that shame men into obedience. They also rely on tools like birth control. Understanding these principles can help men become the primary selectors in relationships. The man who wants to exercise that power must invest in himself, date non-exclusively to make himself the prize, and judge women from their behavior and not what they say. This is important even in long term relationships.
