Stranded on a Harsh Alien Planet
In Barbarian Alien, the second book in Ruby Dixon's Ice Planet Barbarian series, we are introduced to the character of Georgie, who is one of twelve women stranded on the harsh alien planet after their spaceship crashes. The women are struggling to survive the freezing temperatures and the lack of resources on the ice planet. They are also dealing with the trauma of their abduction by an alien race called the Khui.
As if things couldn't get worse, the women soon discover that in order to survive on the planet, they must bond with a symbiotic creature called a 'cootie'. While the cootie helps them adapt to the planet's harsh conditions, it also has a mind of its own and influences their thoughts and actions.
The Barbarian Aliens
While struggling to adapt to their new reality, the women encounter the Ice Barbarians, a group of blue-skinned aliens who have been living on the planet for generations. The Ice Barbarians, who are also victims of the Khui, are initially hostile towards the human women. However, as the story progresses, they begin to see them as potential mates due to the scarcity of females on their planet.
One of the barbarians, Vektal, is particularly drawn to Georgie. Vektal is a fierce warrior with a protective streak, and he feels a strong connection to Georgie, partly due to his cootie. Georgie is initially wary of Vektal and the other barbarians but eventually forms a bond with them as they work together to survive the harsh conditions of the ice planet.
