In Three Act Tragedy by Agatha Christie, we are introduced to Sir Charles Cartwright, a well-known actor, and his friend, the famous detective Hercule Poirot. The story begins with a dinner party at the home of Sir Charles, where Reverend Stephen Babbington suddenly chokes and dies after sipping his cocktail. The death is initially dismissed as an unfortunate accident, but Sir Charles is not convinced and seeks Poirot's help to investigate.
As they delve into the matter, they discover that the Reverend's death is not an isolated incident. A few months earlier, at a similar gathering hosted by the renowned scientist Sir Bartholomew Strange, another guest, Dr. Gerard, had also died in the same manner.
