    For example, hunching over a computer for many hours of your day will make your chest tight and your upper back weak. Over time, this is sure to throw your shoulder joints out of whack. On top of that, inflammation and age-related collagen breakdown play a role in weakening your joints.

    Strength training is the ideal way to address the five main causes of joint pain:

    And cause five: it prevents age-related collagen breakdown.

    So before we get into the specifics of joint health, know that whatever it is that’s ailing you – you should be lifting. This doesn’t mean you have to fight your way through a grueling powerlifting program. In fact, if you’re injured, that’s the last thing you should be doing.
