He wrestled fiercely with depression, and in my perception, my assistance was beneficial to him. I could discern how he would spiral down an unending trail of negative thoughts.” Ultimately, their marriage ended in 1983.

Don Knotts’s Final Romance With Frances Yarborough 

Fast forward almost two decades and Knotts walked down the aisle for the third and last time, this time with actress Frances Yarborough, known for her work in The Electric Chair. The couple, who wed in 2002, initially connected in the ’80s during their collaboration on the sitcom “What a Country!”   

They remained married until Knott died in 2006. Upon Knotts’ passing, Yarborough inherited his multi-million dollar estate.

Reflecting on her husband’s demise, she shared, “He had an exceptional ability to capture the poignant aspects of people’s joy and suffering, turning them into something utterly heartwarming and hilariously entertaining.“
