In Hexed by Kevin Hearne, we are reintroduced to Atticus O'Sullivan, the last of the Druids, who is living in Arizona under an assumed identity. He also enlists the help of his vampire lawyer, Leif Helgarson, and his neighbor, a widow named Mrs. MacDonagh, who has a vast collection of illegal weapons. Atticus also seeks the help of Coyote, the Native American trickster god, who agrees to help him in exchange for a favor.
Atticus and his allies plan to stop Tempesta's coven from performing a ritual that will unleash a deadly plague on the world. They also need to find a way to kill Tempesta, who is immune to most conventional weapons. Atticus learns that the only way to kill a fallen angel is with a weapon made from the wood of a tree that grows in the Garden of Eden. He sets out to find this tree, accompanied by his allies.

As the group races against time to stop Tempesta, they face numerous challenges. They are attacked by Tempesta's coven and have to fight their way through.
