From Carved Pumpkin to Seed

In Pumpkin Jack by Will Hubbell, we meet a young boy named Tim who carves a pumpkin for Halloween. He names his creation Jack and is quite attached to it. After the holiday is over, Tim's mom suggests he put Jack outside for the animals to eat. Tim decides to do so, hoping that Jack's seeds will grow into new pumpkins next year.
