Unusual Neighbors and Alien Encounters

In Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout, we are introduced to Katy Swartz, a book blogger who moves to West Virginia with her mother to start anew after the death of her father. Daemon's initial hostility is a result of his belief that Katy's presence puts Dee in danger. However, his attitude softens as they spend more time together, and they eventually form a strong bond. Their connection is further complicated by the fact that, due to an incident, Daemon has to heal Katy using his powers, resulting in a deep physical and emotional connection between them.

As the story reaches its climax, Katy and Daemon's relationship is put to the ultimate test.
