Two Tales of Passion and the Supernatural

In Deep Kiss of Winter, a collaborative work by Kresley Cole and Gena Showalter, we are treated to two paranormal romance novellas. The first, penned by Cole, is titled Untouchable. It tells the story of Murdoch Wroth, a vampire soldier who has been frozen in time for three centuries. The second novella, Temtation in Shadows, written by Showalter, introduces us to Aleaha Love, a shape-shifter who can assume any identity with a simple touch. She is on a mission to capture a group of otherworldly warriors when she is captured herself by Breean, a golden-skinned commander. Breean is a member of the alien race Aleaha is hunting, and he is determined to use her to his advantage.

As Aleaha and Breean spend time together, they develop a deep and unexpected connection. Aleaha, who has always been a chameleon, finds herself wanting to be her true self around Breean. Breean, in turn, is torn between his duty to his people and his growing feelings for Aleaha. Their romance is complicated by their conflicting loyalties and the dangerous world they inhabit.

Love Triumphs Over All

Both novellas in Deep Kiss of Winter are set against the backdrop of a harsh winter, which serves as a metaphor for the emotional barriers the characters must overcome. In Untouchable, Murdoch and Daniela must find a way to bridge the physical gap between them, while in Temptation in Shadows, Aleaha and Breean must navigate the treacherous political landscape of their worlds.

Despite the odds stacked against them, love triumphs in both stories. The couples learn to trust each other, communicate openly, and fight for their relationship.
