Blinkist Launches Documentary Audio Series ‘State of Mind’
Today, Blinkist launched State of Mind, the new podcast that reimagines the medium as a highly-produced audio experience with cinematic elements. State of Mind interviews successful people typically labeled as outliers, exploring the personal stories, inspirations and unique mindsets that influenced their path.
Parallel to the visually-lush storytelling popular with docuseries, Blinkist’s State of Mind pushes the boundaries of the podcast format with immersive and theatrical storytelling techniques. This allows listeners to be active participants in the stories and insights being imparted, and helps them visualise the auditory worlds they enter.
“We are always in search of the most interesting, knowledge-enhancing content for our audience,” said Niklas Jansen, co-founder of Blinkist and host of State of Mind. “This podcast goes deep on some of the most compelling success stories and surfaces great insights.”
The composition of each State of Mind episode – one part biography, one part narrative essay on a widely debated topic – leaves listeners with a precise takeaway. Blinkist developed this new podcast format based on audience insights; more than 65% of listeners prefer learning through audio formats, and many crave living examples that help contextualize and apply insights to real-life situations.

State of Mind is co-produced with Invisible Media, which creates immersive audio experiences for a generation of active people. With a crew of experts in film sound design, Blinkist introduces the next evolution of audio stories that will bring listeners deeper into the experience.
The show will launch in the Blinkist app, and will be distributed across traditional podcast streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, SoundCloud, etc.).
