The Last Olympian is the final installment in Rick Riordan's action-packed Percy Jackson series. As the long-awaited prophecy unfolds, Percy and his friends must defend Olympus from the formidable Titan army in a gripping showdown.
In The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan, the final book of the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series, we find Percy Jackson and the other half-bloods preparing for the ultimate battle against the Titan lord Kronos and his army. Percy and his friends know that the outcome of this war will determine the fate of Olympus and the entire Western civilization.
The story begins with Percy and his friend Rachel Elizabeth Dare, a mortal who can see through the Mist, a magical veil that hides the true nature of monsters and gods from human eyes. They are attacked by a group of empousai, demonic creatures, and barely escape with their lives. They return to Camp Half-Blood, the sanctuary for demigods, to find the camp preparing for battle.
As the war against the Titans begins, Percy receives a prophecy from the Oracle of Delphi, which predicts that a child of one of the Big Three gods (Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades) will make a choice that will determine the fate of Olympus. Percy fears that this prophecy refers to him and worries about the choice he will have to make.
During the battle, the half-bloods face numerous challenges and suffer great losses. They fight against monsters, Titans, and even their own fears. The Titan army, led by Kronos, launches a full-scale assault on Manhattan, where the heart of Western civilization is located, and the final battle begins.
In the midst of the chaos, Percy and his friends come up with a plan to defeat Kronos. They decide to use the cursed blade of the Titan lord, which can harm both gods and mortals, against him. Percy, with the help of his friends, fights his way to the top of the Empire State Building, where the gods' throne room is located, and confronts Kronos.
In a fierce battle, Percy manages to wound Kronos with the cursed blade. However, he realizes that his initial plan to defeat the Titan lord was a mistake. The curse of the blade is influencing his thoughts, making him more aggressive and ruthless. He finally makes the choice mentioned in the prophecy: to let go of the blade and reject the curse, even if it means losing the chance to kill Kronos.
The gods arrive just in time to defeat Kronos and his army. Despite their victory, Olympus is heavily damaged, and many lives are lost. The gods offer Percy a reward for his bravery and ask him to make a wish. Instead of asking for a personal reward, Percy requests the gods to claim and acknowledge their demigod children, and to build a better future for them by establishing a new alliance between the gods and the half-bloods.
In the end, Percy's choice and his selfless wish earn him the respect and gratitude of the gods and the other half-bloods. The war is over, and the heroes return to Camp Half-Blood to honor the fallen and to begin rebuilding. Percy and his friends may have won the battle, but they know that the war between the Olympians and the Titans is far from over.
The Last Olympian is the fifth and final book in the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. In this epic conclusion, Percy and his friends must defend Mount Olympus from the Titan lord, Kronos, who is determined to overthrow the Olympian gods. As the ultimate battle unfolds, Percy discovers his destiny and the true power of friendship and loyalty.
